Cos789 Whatthe Animalssay Belleville, United States

Whatthe Animalssay is a singer songwriter from the Isle of Man. For four years he toured the local scene in London, under the name 100th Monkey, releasing four albums. For legal reasons he had to drop the handle and became stage-nameless. Disappointed with the London acoustic scene he decided to give up on the conventional musicians life style and leave England to find inspiration within constant movement and exploration. Merging his talent for writing about real experiences, both exciting and mundane, with his desire to see the world. A vanguard for this new ideal, Whatthe Animalssay has veered away from the staple of touring and gigging to become a traveling composer. By posting songs, uploading prerecorded 'live' shows from various locations world wide he takes a personal and unique route in the musical world wide web. Whatthe Animalssay is in the process of becoming a leader in a purely cyber musical movement. In 2006 he went to India where he spent a year composing an album and experiencing the subcontinent with his guitar. Late in 2007, when traveling Iceland, the new name Whatthe Animalssay came to him whilst staring at a mountain. He recorded his India album, Cos789, at Appletree Studios in Seattle, USA. Whatthe Animalssay has been likened to Nick Drake and Elliot Smith for his one voice, one guitar, minimal accompaniment sound. On his latest album Whatthe Animalssay sings about time zone induced insomnia, homesickness, longhaired liberty, becoming a drunk, and metaphoric Siamese twins; all accompanied by mathematical and melodic finger picked guitar. He is currently working on a follow up album with the material he wrote whilst in Iceland, Eastern Europe, Canada, West Africa, America, and Australia.
