Christian Blunda says:
With an arsenal of accordians, violins, xylophones, piano, guitars and upright bass, Brooklyn's Alicia Jo Rabins offers up a beautiful and unique album of modern jewish folk-spirituals with 'Girls In Trouble'. The record is largely acoustic, with Rabins' soft voice narrating folk ballads reminiscent of Leonard Cohen, but with help from Scott Solter (Spoon, The Mountain Goats, Okkervil River), it bursts into full-blown rock crescendos, rounding out a dynamic indie-folk record.
