However, for better life and operation of these roller shutters, it is necessary to clean them regularly so that if any problem is noticed then it can be quickly addressed. In this small write up, we shall discuss about how to clean roller shutters, if you have installed MAVERICH roller shutters in your property.
If you notice that your shutter appears to be too dusty then you must plan to clean it. All that you will be needing for cleaning of shutter are as follows:
- Clean water
- Mild detergent
- Soft bristled brush
- Soft cloth
- Remove dust
To start with, wipe away all the dust or debris from the roller shutters, particularly if the roller shutters happens to be painted, as tiny dust particles can become very abrasive, which can cause scratches, if you do not remove before you clean your shutters.
This step will ensure that dust or dirt will not run down your shutter once it is wet, when it may lodge into cracks and crevices that are difficult to remove.
Use a soft and clean microfiber cloth and remove the dust, dirt, or debris before moving to next step.
2. Wipe the surface by using warm water with mild detergent
Use warm water along with mild detergent to remove stains, dirt etc. and after that use a clean cloth for wiping the entire roller shutter’s surface. Don’t miss any spot. By using moderate pressure, scrub away all serious stains where there may be a lot of dirt/debris.
Next, try to go over the entire surface again by spraying with more water and detergent by using up-and-down motion try to wipe the entire shutter. Avoid going side-to-side because this will cause your shutter to get misaligned.
3. Also clean by using soft brush
You also need to clean in between shutter guides. So, use any soft brush for cleaning gently the guides, try to dislodge any dust, debris or lint. Once you are done with this step, then you can wipe the guides by using warm water. Now dry out the guides completely before lowering again the shade.
4. Wipe the surface by using clean water and then dry it
Finally, try to use clean water which is totally free of any debris or soap for wiping down the entire exterior and also interior surface of the roller shutters. By doing this, you will be able to remove any dust or debris that might still remain.
After doing this, you can now use any clean microfiber cloth or towel for wiping down the total surface completely. By doing this, you will be able to remove all the remaining impurities or dirt, and also remove moisture that prevents any dirt or dust from settling down on the newly-cleaned shutters.
